Basic step-by-step tutorial resource?

I'm new to Lr and really struggling with Adobe's approach. There are a lot of disaprate resources on individual tasks but I am looking for more of a "how to get started"-type tutorial. Many of the videos on Lr are experienced p[eople moving way too quickly through through their descritions -- not really tuturials so much as marking pieces designed to show what Lr can do. 

Any direciton here?  Thanks.
