The bounding box on my radial gradient has disappeared. Does anyone know how I can retrieve this please?

You have turned off the Tool Overlay by setting it to 'never' (or the update did that). Set it to any of the other options. I'm not entirely sure if the 'H' key works in Lightroom too, but in Lightroom Classic that is another way to circle through the overlays. P.S. do not confuse the tool overlay with the mask overlay.

Correction: it's a bit different in Lightroom than it is in Classic. I was typing my answer on my iPad, so I had to do it by memory, and that was wrong. Here's what to do: click on the three dots behind Show Overlay. Then check the 'Show pins and tools' option.

I can't discover how to set the Tool Overlay in ACR. I'm very frustrated that I cannot create a gradient tool with bounding boxes. I can draw the gradient but cannot control it or alter it at all. I would so appreciate any help! Thank you.

Thank you so much! What a helpful community this is. I had not found an answer in all my trying or all my Googling until I came here. And it worked! 🙂

I also have no bounding box on radial gradient, and I can't discover where to access the Tool Overlay options.

Are you using Lightroom, or Lightroom Classic? This discussion is about Lightroom, so just look at the screenshots if you use that application. If you use Lightroom Classic, then look in the toolbar underneath your image in the left corner. You may have to press the 'T' key if there is no toolbar. You can also press the 'H' key to toggle hiding/showing the overlay.

I had this issue, I guess it reset the setting when an update was made to LR, but here is a simple Fix:

Go to> Tools> Tools Overlay> (Activate) Auto Show

😉 This worked for me...
