Hi I have a question - I looked at a bunch of tutorials on how to open a catalog how to open a folder/ subfolder, etc., and I backed my photos up to a hard drive. However, the "file" menu does not give me any options to start a catalog, nor does it open up a box on my computer, and I can't create any subfolders. Am I missing something? I'm using Lightroom CC, the latest version.

Asking a technical question wrt/ Lightroom in an Acrobat Forum isn't going to get you any responses. Please post in the proper forum. We will branch this to a new topic in the Lightroom forum.

I think the tutorials would probably relate to Lightroom Classic but you have installed the cloud version of Lightroom. With that you don’t have to worry about catalogs or folders/sub-folders. Everything imported is automatically stored in the cloud and available on all computers and mobile devices. You may be able to switch your plan if you think Classic would be more suitable.

okay - throwing the cloud into the mix - that makes sense - so I'll study up on that. I get my subscription through the college where I teach because they have a relationship with Adobe . . . . I appreciate you helping me make sense of this. My first goal is to get all the photos I want to edit in one folder and get rid of the rest. So I'll put them all in an album/folder and work on them like that.
