Cannot export photo as pdf from Lightroom

I'm in a time crunch and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to export a photo from Lightroom (not classic) as a PDF. It gives me only the options: JPEG, TIF and DNG but I must have the file in PDF format. The internet says I can export as a PDF from the Print section of the toolbar, but my screen doesn't display a toolbar at all (doesn't show up by pressing T or Command/Control T). Am I missing something?

Creative Cloud says Lightroom is up to date and running the most recent version - my Mac laptop isn't up to date but I figured that wouldn't have any impact.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

The simple answer is that you can't. There is no option to export as a PDF in the Lightroom app. There are some PDF options in Lightroom Classic (e.g. exporting a Slideshow or Book as a PDF), but nothing like that in Lightroom.

As Jim said you cannnot. The short term solution is to export the image as JPEG, and open the image with Apple Preview or Photos (or similar app) and print to PDF.

Two parts to the question. 1. Does exporting from Lr affect the quality? 2. Does the print engine you use affect the quality?

For 1. that is up to you when you export.

For 2. I left the Apple world in 2013. So I do not know what they do now. I think it likely Photos would have a fairly good chance to maintain the image quality. Preview tool, that is a complete shot in the dark  for what it does.
