Confusing issue with export options?

Explorer ,
Jun 19, 2025 Jun 19, 2025

Using current version iOS app and current version iOS

Whenever I select and try to export more than 5 images at a time, even when exporting as small jpeg files, I lose the option to "save to photos".  It just disappears from the list, and I can't figure out why.

Does anyone know how to fix this so that I can just always export directly to photos since that is where I want my exports to go 100% of the time?

Thanks.

I noticed the same problem on my iPad the other day. @Charlie.D If you use Export, and then want to use 'Save to Photos' in the share sheet, you'll find this menu is missing if you selected multiple photos (not sure if the cut off is 5). I'm not sure if this is intentional, a Lightroom bug, or a bug in the MacOS share sheet. @cryanhorner Use 'Save copy to Device' rather than 'Export'. You can set the export settings by tapping on the wheel icon.

Hi @cryanhorner

I am able to select more than 5 images and Save copy to device to export images to my camera roll. (see my screenshot below)

Maybe you are running an older app version?  Please update to the latest app uppdate, v10.4.

I am already on the latest version, I just checked in case there was some recent update (although I have automatic updates on).

I'm not sure if there is a limitation based on total size of the selected files or number of files, I just noticed that if I reduce the selected files to 5 or fewer, the option to save images is available and when I select any more than that, the option is gone.  I tried with various groupings of images to confirm it wasn't specific to any one image causing problems.

I get a similar but maybe unrelated issue when I want to send a group of images from my iphone to Lightroom, although with a much higher limit--if I select up to 50 images and click the share button, the option to send to Lightroom is available, but if I select 51 or more, that option disappears.  I don't know if that is an apple or an adobe limitation though.

Still, 50 is a much more generous limit to have to work around than 5, which is pretty frustrating.

@cryanhorner

As my screenshot shows, I was not limited to 5 images.  Maybe I am misunderstanding your workflow.  It might help if you could share a video screen recording showing what you're trying to do.  See how: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102653

And if you can do this, please first enable "Show touches" at the bottom of LR App Settings > Input

Oh that is interesting.  I thought that when you choose 'save a copy to device' it automatically exported a full size version, and since I was trying to export small jpegs of these files I hadn't considered that option, but I did find where you can adjust those export settings per yours suggestion, so that is a good workaround.  Thanks.
