Connecting Camera to iMac

Community Beginner ,
Apr 02, 2023 Apr 02, 2023

Hello,

When my camera is connected via USB to my airbook, I can download my pictures in Lightroom Classic,

But...

When I want to download my pictures in Lightroom in stead of LR Classic (over the same connection) I don't see my camera..

Any idea why it is possible in LR Classic and not in LR?

Does Lightroom have 'full disk access' in MacOS Security & Privacy? It needs it too:

I'm having a similar issue with the SD Card. It does show up in Lightroom, but when selecting, all images are black, and you can't select anything. I did read this too about Lightroom Classic about removable volumes: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-classic-not-showing-my-images... , but this does not show up for Lightroom. And I tried to drag the Lightroom app into this screen without success. So it looks like Lightroom is missing the prompt to ask to access removable volumes since you can't enable it manually.

Here is an example of Dropbox that did ask for it and showed up ("Verwijderbare volumes" means "Removable volumes").

This is what I see when going to Lightroom and selecting the camera/SD card from the button on the right, "Add pictures":

I see this empty screen but look at the scroll view indicator that shows many items on this volume. And when hovering over the empty field, it shows the file name and other info.

I hope this permission issue can be solved in an upcoming update since this has already been happening for a long time.

The current workaround is to select "Bladeren..." (meaning "Explore...") when choosing Add pictures. Since it will open a Finder screen, you can still select your removable volume and import the images. But it would be nice if the dedicated buttons inside Lightroom do work.
