Custom White Balance for reddish concert lights affects thumbnails but won't apply to the RAW files!
Hi,
I've been very frustrated with Custom White balance, but not sure if it's anything I can fix. I'm on a 2013 Macbook Pro running High Sierra. I use LR Classic ver. 9.0.
I usually will do a CWB under reddish to very red lights, and then I convert to DNG upon import. The jpeg previews in LR browser look how I would expect (pretty green, but with the intent of further tweaking in LR), but when I click on them, they revert to being really red, as if I either didn't do a Custome White Balance or just put it on the Tungsten camera setting.
Is it just because there's an inherent limitation in RAW, like only being able to compensate to a 3200K tungsten? Is it some setting? I imagine a lot of people shooting concerts, plays, etc. have run into this problem. Let me know what other information you might need to know to help sort this out. Thank you!
