Customize catalog location

I am using a third party deployment solution, and I need to have lightroom look to a different location for the catalog file.  Is there a way to modify the install to have lightroom look to this new location for all the computers i run the deployment on?

In preferences you can set LRCC to store copies locally rather than use the default cache. But you need to specify a drive or external hard drive. I’m not sure about silent install deployment but you would probably need a separate folder for each user. I prefer the default cache which is more efficient e.g. local copies are eventually replaced by proxies optimized for computer/device.

I need to make the change in the catalog location prior to install or would need a way to copy a preference file to each computer to set the new location.  Your suggestion would work but would require me to touch every machine...

When we launch Lightroom CC, I get an error stating that the catalog file cannot be created on a remote server or shared folder.  It is attempting to create it in the users Picture folder, which in our case is redirected to their home folder on a file server...

There must be a point of clarification here. Adobe has created a naming confusion. Lightroom CC is NOW the name for the cloud-based Lightroom. There is no local catalog for Lightroom CC, the cloud-based Lightroom. Lightroom Classic CC is NOW the name for the file-based "traditional" Lightroom that we have been accustomed to using for the last decade that uses a catalog stored on the local computer. Which version of Lightroom are you really referring to?
