Default Lightroom Archive

Hi everyone,

I am running Lightroom 5.3 on Mac.

There is a deafult Lightroom archive in my Pictures folder. If I delete this archive and restart Lightroom, the archive is recreated with a selection of images (which are stored on an external drive).

Does anyone know where this data is stored to recreate the archive after I have deleted it? Is it stored in the cloud? (my external drive is not connected).

Thanks,

Andrew

Yes, in the cloud. This "archive" is more like a local cache, but the real data is in the cloud. When you import pictures, they are uploaded to the cloud and those are the ones that Cloudy Lightroom regards as the originals. When you do work on them, those adjustments are recorded in the cloud.

Many thanks John, good to have confirmation.

Do you consider this a backup, or do you still backup separetly?
