I have added a number of photos to a Lightroom collection. A number of them have disappeared but the collection shows 116 of 134 images. Where are the missing 18 images and why does it count 134 when 18 are not showing up. I can find the missing photos in their original files so it is not a question of mis-filing them.

Two possibilities: Either you stacked some of the images (a collapsed stack is counted as one image), or you have an active filter that hides some images.
