Question

Display filenames in Lightroom

I'm an avid LrC user, but I have been watching the Terry White master classes and have decided it's time to become more familiar with Lightroom. One question, is there a way to display filenames? I haven't been able to see how to do that. For instance, I performed the super resolution feature on an image today and now I have both images but I don't have a way to identify which image I'm working on, at least on my computer. The filenames are not displaying, and I don't see a way to do that. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Added later: I discovered that the filename can be seen using the info button. But it would be nice if the filenames displayed with the images like they do in LrC.

I'm not quite sure you can view all names as overlays in Lightroom Desktop Jim, apart from using (i) on selected photos in Grid View, but I'm still on 3.4 until I update my Mac so things may have changed.

In Lightroom Mobile (tapping grid with two fingers) and Lightroom Web, by tapping (O), you can though if that helps.

I know that. However, if I apply super resolution to an image that I have identical images as far as Lightroom is concerned. And if I want to ensure that I am editing the DNG file that has been enhanced rather than the original it would be nice to have the assurance that I'm on the right image. I'll get used to it. I'm just forcing myself to use Lightroom a little more. I'm not switching to it, just trying to understand it a little more than I have in the past. Maybe I'm using things as crutches that I don't need to. Have to wait and see. Thanks for your insight.

Use stars, pick, or the image resolution, or in a specific album. These are the easiest things to see/filter to know what image you are working.

File names are fairly irrelevant for Lightroom because of the cloud based storage. That is why you also cannot change file names.
