Question

DNG presets not allowed to be imported into Lightroom 23?

Hi all, I have a pack of presets I've been successfully using in Lightroom for the past couple years - dng files. I recently had to create a new Creative Cloud account and so went to import the dng presets into Lightroom again but when I do, it won't allow me to import the files. I can go as far as clicking on the folder that houses them all but the files are unavailable to choose, as in I can see them but can't select one.

Does anyone know what's happening here or how I could import and use these? Thank you so much!

Presets stored in DNG files are meant for Lightroom Mobile. You import the DNG and then save its (embedded) settings as a new preset. That is done this way because Lightroom Mobile for iOS cannot import presets directly. You will have to use the same procedure for other versions of Lightroom if you only have these DNG versions. If you have .XMP versions too, then those are preset files that you can import directly in Lightroom desktop. They will then sync to your other devices.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thanks for your help. I just posted where the link sent me. How do I find where you moved my specific post?
