Question

Download raw files from Fuji XT5

Ho there,

I had an XT2 and could download & work on raw images on my IPad when I was travelling. I now have the XT5 & the jpegs download fine but the raw ones say Preview Unavailable.
I believe this is an issue & they will upload to Lightroom Classic but is there a workaround so that I can download them on the IPad to the cloud while I'm away?

Thank you,

Sue

Thank you for your reply Charlie. The raw images say preview unavailable so I can’t tick them to upload them. The jpegs upload as normal. Is this an issue with XT5 raw files & Lightroom CC?

Thank you,
Sue

Since that camera is listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html , and because Lightroom can import any Raw images that you can also see in the native Photos app, this sounds to me like XT5 raw images are not supported by iOS at this time.

From what I have read online, it sounds as though to date, only the XT4 is supported by IOS.    Both my partner and I have an XT5.    Initially I could not preview my images, unless I opened them up one by one in my photo software (hopeless).      Weirdly, I can now preview my images on my apple computer, but my partner still can't, and I also cannot preview images taken by his camera on my computer.

Hello @SLRPhotographic

It sounds like iPad OS cannot render previews for your XT5 raw images.  Are you able to see these raw images when you trying importing a few into the iPad Photos app?

Until raw images are fully imported, Lightroom relies on the platform (iPad OS) to render previews.  If iPad OS is not rendering raw image previews for you, fully importing images into Lightroom just to see them and then culling/deleting unwanted images is what I personally would try.  Maybe other users have different suggestions.
