Extremely Slow Batch Edit on iPad Compared to Android

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing very slow batch editing performance on my iPad Pro M4 using Lightroom. When I apply an edit to a small batch of 5 photos, it takes almost one full minute to complete the sync. This seems excessive, especially considering the iPad’s powerful hardware.

Interestingly, when I try the same operation on my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold (Android), it’s significantly faster and seems to work more efficiently, even running edits in the background.

I genuinely prefer editing on the iPad — the user interface feels more intuitive and enjoyable than on Android. But this issue is a real letdown and interrupts my workflow quite a bit.

Is this a known issue with the iPad version of Lightroom? Or is this behavior expected due to how iPadOS or Lightroom handles batch edits?

Would love to hear if others are experiencing the same, or if Adobe is aware of this discrepancy.

Thanks!

Quan

Hey, @Quan Vu Fotografie. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

What specific edits are included in your batch edits? Do you have a significant number of masks in the batch operation? Is Sync still in progress when you see copy-and-paste edits? Could you provide a video with the exact same edits applied to a similar-sized batch of images?

Awaiting your response. Thanks!

Hi Sameer, simple edits like color and light. No masks or AI related. I have turned off sync but does not make a difference. I have attached a screenrecording and hope it shows the issue (if it's an issue) clearly.
