HDR histogram not showing

I'm trying the HDR to use with my Macbook Pro XDR 1600 nits display and I'm getting the blank histogram in the HDR range. Screen shot attached.

Yes, the HDR portion of the Histogram is unavailable when using SDR.

Do you have the Preview for SDR Display option checked in the SDR Settings panel?

Thank you. Yes I do have the preview for SDR checked. Oh. So I guess that might be the problem. I unchecked it.
