Healing brush freezes

Community Beginner ,

The healing brush sometimes freezes when I use it. Suddenly, there's a ring on the screen where I last used the healing tool and I can't use the tool anymore. I can still do other adjustments, but to use the healing tool, I have to restart my Lightroom. This is a screenshot of how it looks when it freezes:

Steps to reproduce the problem (not always):

1. Use the healing tool.

2. Drag the tool over the spot/blemish I want to remove.

Expected result: Lightroom searches for an area to copy and heals the selected area.

Actual result: the healing tool freezes and the blemish isn't removed. I have to restart Lightroom to retry.

These are the details of (cloud-based) Lightroom and my MacBook:

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

I see that you're on version 5.3. Would you mind updating it to the latest version?

Details here: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/keeping-lightroom-up-to-date.html#:~:text=How%20do%20I%....

Does disabling the graphics processor make any difference?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far?

We're here to help, just need some details.

Regards,

Ranjisha

Hi

Thanks for the quick response! I see that the newest version of Lightroom is 6.1 but when I go to my Creative Cloud, it says my Lightroom is up-to-date and I don't see a way to update it...

I have tried disabling the graphics processor but it makes working in Lightroom very slow and troublesome. Apart from that step, I've found that restarting Lightroom fixes the problem until it resurfaces (sometimes a couple of weeks later). Closing the healing tool, doing other adjustments, going to another gallery etc. don't fix the problem: when I return to the healing tool, there's still a circle on the same spot and I can't click on another spot to heal.

Hi

I still have the same issue... I haven't heard from you since January. Can I get some feedback so this problem can be resolved? Thanks in advance!

@Ranjisha Sengupta  is no longer with Adobe and will not be responding.

This is not a widespread issue and is likely limited to your local machine's configuration. Update Lightroom to 7.3 and your OS to the current 14.5. If you still experience the problem, I recommend contacting Adobe Customer Care.
