Question

Healing brush not working in LR IOS

I'm trying to use the healing brush tool on my iPad and it's not working, or rather won't switch from the clone tool.  I can select the healing brush but it's stuck on the clone tool.

Hello @andrewm47416718

I'm not able to reproduce any trouble on my iPad Pro (2018) running iPad OS 15, and using our latest app release 7.2.1.  I am able to make a selection, and then toggle between Clone and Heal modes without any problem.

After ensuring all your latest images and edits are synced, can you try an app re-install?

If that doesn't resolve the issue, could you please share your device model and iOS version info?  It might also help to see what you're experiencing--could you share a screen capture with us?  Here is info on how to make a screen recording: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207935

Thank you!

Thank you for looking into this for me.  I did already try deleting the app and reinstalling.  In the screen shot you can see that the heal tool is selected but it seems to be stuck on the clone tool.  I'm using an iPad  2020 10.1" running iOS 15.4.1.

I understand you see some common appearance with Heal, but I don't see a problem.  Clone is copy of a selected area.  Heal will still use source pixels, but tries more to blend in destination colors, which you don't have much in your example shot.

If you are trying to remove those specks, please try different (smaller) brush sizes, and also experiment with feather and opacity.  Please note that on iPad, you can use 2 fingers to zoom in and help you focus on smaller details.

You might also want to search the web for "lightroom clone vs heal" for advice on how to use the tool.  There are some informative videos online which might help more than my limited advice here.

Thank you!
