How can I stop the photos on my PC to go back to the JPEG extension? All my photos where Jpeg until I installed LR now all my photos show as HEIC extentions?

Hey, @Kent34995475djf1. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.
What version of Lightroom & the operating system are you working on? What device were the images shot initially from?
If you're using an iOS device, you can check the format you're shooting in from Settings > Camera > Formats > If High Efficiency is checked, you get HEIC output, and 'Most compatible' is for JPG output.

the photos on my pc were all taken from iphone or digital camera in jpeg format , now that i have lightroom on my pc all the photo on my pv have the heic ext rather than .jpeg, when i try to open a photo it opens lightroom app. i want my photos to remain in the .jpeg format, as i want to back them up on a flash drive and dont wanr the LR ext on them.
