Hallo zusammen,
Bilder_JPG -> 20xx_Foto_Ort
Bilder_RAW -> 20xx_Foto_Ort
Nico
Ah ok, is there a way to take this conversation in the right forum or do i have to close this one and open a new on.
I have Lightroom (Lr) 7.2 installed and Lightroom Classic (LrC) 13.2. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you earlier because I was at work.
I would like to switch to Lightroom Classic as there is more information and videos online to teach myself.
I'm currently using Lightroom (Lr) more because I like editing images from my tablet. However, my cloud storage (20 Gb) always fills up quit

From the translation to English:
I need your advice/help. I've now purchased a NAS and want to improve my workflow with Lightroom.
So far, I have always imported the images into Lightroom, edited them and exported them again. This workflow feels like it's from the Stone Age (it probably is).
Are you talking about Lightroom Classic (LrC icon) or Lightroom (Lr icon)? What version NUMBER?
I would like to save my photos in my existing structure:
Bilder_JPG -> 20xx_Foto_Ort
Bilder_RAW -> 20xx_Foto_Ort
Completely unnecessary ... LrC can distinguish JPGs from RAWs. So unnecessary, its extra work for no benefit ... I don't like the sound of that.
Now I would like to be able to do the following:
- Save photos to my NAS natively
- Link this new folder in Lightroom to be able to edit in Lightroom Classic (Windows) and also on my phone (Apple) and tablet (Huawei).
Save? Meaning export? Or where the originals are stored? Or something else?
I got this idea from YouTube that this should work, but somehow I don't quite grasp the workflow.
I need clarification on what you are referring to.
I don't have a real catalog or structure yet (except for my RAW folders) so I can start fresh or what is the best way to create catalogs/folders/collections?
First, let me strong advise you to stop thinking about organizing via folders (except for folders by capture date, which is a default in LrC); and begin organizing by metadata — keywords and other metadata (captions, titles, GPS locations, etc.) and not organize via collections. Metadata and keywords offers a lot more flexibility and power than collections. Let me even strongly advise you to stop thinking about organizing with catalogs (plural); you want to use one and only one catalog without a very strong reason.

I mainly used Lightroom Lr. Always the latest version.

I only have this division because I used this workflow with import into Lightroom->edit->export->remove from Lightroom to free up my cloud storage.
Save? Meaning export? Or where the originals are stored? Or something else?
Where I store the original RAW files from my camera.
I need clarification on what you are referring to.
To have access to the same images on all 3 of my devices and to be able to continue with the same editing status.

Ok, I'll create a new catalog. I have to save this catalog file locally on my Windows computer, as far as I checked correctly. Now I can add a drive and import folders there, but is that the right way? Or should I add my images to the catalog differently so that they can be used properly?

So not Lightroom Classic. You are in the wrong forum. You want to post in the Lightroom ecosystem forum. (By the way, I did specifically ask for the version NUMBER, and you didn't provide that)

I found out online that you actually just upload Smart Views to the cloud, which then allows editing from mobile devices and the original files should be on my NAS. This means that the cloud storage should not fill up so quickly. But that's exactly where the problem lies: how do I organize it so that it works?
Thanks for your help
