How do I show comments?

New Here ,
Mar 11, 2023 Mar 11, 2023

I'm using Lightroom 6.2 on a MBP. I've created an album and shared it online with view only but comments allowed. I've made comments on the app on my machine, but those comments do not show up in the online gallery. Curiously, when I make a comment online, it shows up on my desktop Lightroom almost immediately. I've tried different browsers and incognito mode, but still get the same problem. Any idea how to make it so that comments work in both directions?

Welcome to the Lightroom Community @PeterRich. I'll help you figure this out. What version of macOS are you working on?

While testing this through Lightroom Desktop, Lightroom Classic & Lightroom Mobile, I saw the comments synced as expected. You can try temporarily disabling any VPN or protection software on your machine that can change how your device interacts with the internet.

Ensure Lightroom has the required disk access & permissions: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/quick-tips-how-to-give-full-disk-access...

As a temporary workaround, sign in to Lightroom Web (https://lightroom.adobe.com) & try adding comments from the web  & it should work as expected.
Thanks!

@Sameer K

It's interesting that you are seeing comments syncing as expected, because from my own brief tests I'm seeing the same as @PeterRich and @selondon. I specifically tested the flow of comments through the complete ecosystem, adding comments to a shared image in LrWeb (LrW), Lightroom Classic (LrC), Lightroom desktop (LrD) and LrMobile (LrM) on two separate devices (iPhone and iPad), and this is what I observed:

  1. LrD and both LrMs receive all comments made in the system (including LrC and LrW).
  2. However, both LrC and LrW do NOT receive any comments made by LrM and LrD, but do see the comments made by each other.
  3. None of LrW, LrM, LrD have yet received any notifications that comments have been made (over an hour ago, and still no notifications).
  4. Ironically LrC DOES show notifications of comments made by LrW, but not from any of the other apps.

 @Jim Wilde @selondon Thanks for sharing your findings here. Will share this with the team, test some more and share the outcome.

I think you may be correct @PeterRich

In my testing Like and Comments are not sycing outwards from LrD and LrM. (I assume they should).
