How do I stop lightroom from uploading my photos to the cloud?

I have lightroom installed on computers and a phone. I don't want it to auto upload photos to the cloud. How do I stop photos from uploading?

I just found this thread doing an internet search for "lightroom forcing me to use the cloud." It's revealing to see the back and forth comments in this thread. It says omething about peoples' ideologies. Some people seem to like monopolies and others want choice. Competition makes everything better in my opinion. Lose the competition and choices eventually disapear. Generally speaking about ideology, some people are ok with monopolies, or even prefer them, and others are not ok with it and like and want competition. This is in peoples' DNA I think. We are how we are. Examples of this are scattered throughout these forums. It is true that if you don't like it, then you don't have to buy it. But this is the only choice in the sense that no other software comes close to what pros need, so that they can run a business and make a living. I wish Adobe would understand this ideological difference in people, and create their products to accommodate everyone. This would go a long way in making for a better user experience. But the way of the world seems to be less or no choice in many other aspects of business and life. Such is life.

A nice workflow I have is to use Lightroom Classic to store my whole library, then create a collection that syncs with Lightroom, I only add the files I want in the cloud to this collection.

Steps:

Create a collection
In the options check the box 'Sync with Lightroom' and 'Set as target collection' (not required but useful)
Add photos you want in the cloud to this collection

The option 'Set as target collection' is useful because you can just press the 'B' key to add a photo quickly to that collection or click the grey circle top right on a thumbnail.

If you don't see the option 'Sync with Lightroom' when you create a collection just click the cloud icon top right of the module picker to enable sync.

Lightroom CC uploads everything to the cloud. That is how it is intended to work. You can’t turn this off. If you don’t want your images in the cloud, use Lightroom Classic CC instead.

So why does Adobe charge for the use of LR and the video editing and other
programs in one price when I ONLY wish to use PS and Camera Raw; or am I
missing something. I am paying for other programs that I have no need for!
Maybe I've missed a different smaller price plan. So since I am paying for
LR I have given it a try a few times but it does not work like All other
Microsoft programs. Oh well, I do enjoy PS, and lately with a couple Topaz
plugins.

If you’re on the Photography Plan, you’re already on the lowest price plan. It is a special bundle deal that Adobe has, and breaking out the applications is not going to lower the cost.

Just look at all the other single-app plans they have: If you choose to subscribe to Photoshop alone, or Illustrator alone, or Premiere Pro alone, that will be $20.99 a month. That is their normal single-app price.

The $9.99/month Photography plan bundle is the cheapest way to get just Photoshop or just Lightroom or just Lightroom Classic, even though you get all three. Just pay the $9.99 and ignore the apps you don’t want. Trying to subscribe to just one will be the normal $20.99/month price.

If you are saying “So why does Adobe charge for the use of LR and the video editing” then are you actually subscribing to the $52.99/month All Apps plan, which includes the Premiere Pro video editing application? Then you probaly don’t want the $52.99/month All Apps plan, you probably want the $9.99/month Photography Plan bundle.

BS - you have the option to upload to the cloud or not. I just want the option. I want to upload items to the web for clients but personal photos are on external drives etc.
