How do I turn off the help pop-ups in Lightroom

Please can someone tell me how to turn off the help pop ups in Lightroom. They are incredibly obtrusive and get in the way all the time. I know they are supposed to gradually show less over time but after 12 months of using Lightroom for 2-3 hours per day they are still showing. I don't need or want them. Please tell me there is a simple off button somewhere.

Perhaps 5 yrs too late but I found a solution to your problem which I myself was facing in a comment on a similar post: go to edit ---> preferences ---> interface ---> and unactivate 'enable animated hover tips'
