How to download full resolution edited pictures from lightroom cloud

Hi, I edit quite a lot of pictures on the go, in the Lightroom Mobile app, every once in a while I want to clean my Lightroom cloud - download the photos on a Windows PC and store them on a external hard drive.

The problem is, I can't download full resolution, edited files on to my PC. I can download low resolution edit, "high" resolution edit (~2.5Mb), and unedited original picture (~`10Mb). In the Mobile app, I am able to download an edited picture in full size of around 10Mb. For some reason, I can't do the same on the PC, it always compresses the images.

Downloading them into my phone and then uploading on PC to store them on a hard drive would be a huge pain in the ass, since I am using an iphone with a windows PC.

I assume you have the mobile premium subscription plan? If you had the full Lightroom with 1TB cloud space Plan you can export using the "Original + Settings" option from the Lightroom Desktop app, exporting to your external hard drive.

But if you haven't got that full plan, you could try the free Adobe Lightroom Downloader which will download all the cloud files to your hard drive. Raw files are downloaded as original plus settings. Normally I wouldn't recommend the Downloader as the last few times I tested it there were problems with downloading the metadata associated with the files. That may not be an issue for you, so it would be worth a try to see if it fits your needs....nothing to lose, the downloader doesn't delete the images from the cloud so you could test and verify before manually clearing out images from the cloud.

If you are using the Lightroom Desktop app on your Mac, and you wish to "download" a copy of the edited original, you would need to use the export function and specify the "Original" option. This will create a copy of the original with settings included (either embedded in the header of the exported copy, or in the case of proprietary raw files they would be included in a sidecar XMP file).

I don't understand what you are trying to do when you say "nor can I drag them from the lightroom file within Classic". Could you clarify.

With reference to the final comment that you can't edit because the files are missing, can you provide some details about that? Specifically, what app are you using? Is the computer working in offline mode? A screenshot of the error message might give us a clue.
