How to manually save edits in lightroom?

I am using Lightroom 4.1. I have search the Internet and I cannot find how I can manually save edits made to a photo. I can see sometimes the little cloud in the top right corner syncing but is there a manual way to sync/save edits?

Last photo I edited did not save the settings. I did see the blue circle around the cloud which to me indicates syncing/synced. I closed lightroom and later when I go back in the edits are gone. Just the original raw file.

Thank you.

You do not have to (and you even cannot) manually save edits, Lightroom does that automatically. There is a bug in Lightroom 4.1 however, where the edits are lost if you quit Lightroom while you are still in the edit view. What you should do before you quit Lightroom is either go back to the grid, or switch to another photo. Until the bug is fixed, of course.

Interesting.

Does lighroom work offline or would I always need an internet connection for the edits to save/sync?

Thanks for the info. Very helpful.

To save, no. Lightroom can work offline for weeks. To sync, obviously yes.
