How to save a file which is exported from LR CLOUD to PS and back to LR CLOUD as a PSD and not tif?

I found one post which said change settings in LR but this seems to apply to the DESKTOP STANDALONE version.

Does anyone know? The PSDs are much smaller.

Thank you

As far as I know, using the Lightroom Desktop to PS workflow can only ever return a Tiff, with no option to return PSD. It is possible to use "Save As" in PS (choosing to save in PSD format), but the resulting PSD would not be automatically added to Lightroom, you would have to manually import it.

But in my tresting, the PSD is usually larger than the Tiff, not smaller.

Hi Jim

Thanks. Yes; it seems to be as you describe. Also as per the Save As option not sending it back to LR. My test case was limited to applying one filter layer in the file and also turning off PhotoShop Compatibility. This seems to make a big difference.

I've discovered that tiffs support layers. I can reopen a tiff and see the layers which has made me think I might just accept the (in my case) larger files.

Thanks again
