I cannot edit older photos in my Lightroom

I have many older photos I wish to access on my Lightroom. I currently haven't been able to. Please help, thank you

Hello, try turning on access to cloud files, then check to see if the photographs are still in smart preview mode or if they are now viewable by opening them in the app.
