Lightroom CC gets stuck while trying to import a user preset created on Spyder Checkr, and the Create Preset option is disabled.
Importing presets from the Preset panel - Import Preset or from File - Import profiles & presets results in the same scenario, Lightroom stuck in the stage of Importing/Loading presets.
The option of Reset Hidden Presets in the Presets panel is also disabled, and cannot be clicked.

More information please. What is the Spyder Checkr being use for? Spyder devices do not create Presets TBMK.
If you are using it to create a Monitor Profile there is nothing to import- it is the computer operating system that uses the profile.
Are you creating a Camera Profile from a photo of a color chart?

Spyder has many products, one of them being the DataColor card. The Spyder software compares your picture of the card to what it thinks are the correct color values and creates a preset for you to apply to your images. It creates a .lrtemplate file that needs to be imported.
I too am having issues. The .lrtemplate file cannot be directly imported to user presets for LrC and the process also does not work when the file is put into a .zip file.

Still have not heard from @eimiailen as to what purpose the Spyder Checkr is being used.
For Camera Profiles:
@Heron Photography I believe your explanation to be not correct! The xrite colorchecker app creates a (DNG) .dcp Profile (Not a Preset). (.LRTEMPLATE files are NOT used or involved)
Then the user can Import this profile to Lightroom v8.5 (or Lr-Classic) and set this profile for a camera in the Lightroom Edit/Develop module and apply the profile for images specific to the camera.
Lightroom is not required to create a camera profile- only the ColorChecker Camera Calibration app is required and a DNG image of the color chart (This may require exporting the color chart photo as a DNG file from Lightroom, or using the DNG converter app to change a proprietary raw file to DNG)
My created Nikon profiles (shown in File Explorer):

@eimiailen Using a color card- you must be creating a CAMERA profile- Am I correct?
Camera profiles created by Xrite software are always .DCP files to the best of my knowledge.
So what Xrite software app are you using to create a 'Preset'?
Can you attach the .LRTEMPLATE file to a post here and myself (or someone else) can test to see if import is possible.?
Please provide a lot more information and give, in detail, any error messages you might see.
Your brief explanation is insufficient to arrive at an answer.

I could be totally wrong, but here goes. It is my understanding that Eimiailen was using a SpyderCheckr card not an X-Rite color card. The cards, software and processes for the SpyderCheckr are different, I would suppose.
Yes, we are trying to create a camera profile or camera correction preset for lightroom. The preset will change based on the real world shooting conditions. I have my subjects hold my SpyderCheckr 48 card in the lighting that I will be shooting them in. The Spyder Software creates a preset that will color correct for you lighting conditions.
The issue is that the newer versions of LrC use either a .zip or .xmp file format for their preset templates. The SpyderCheckr software only exports in the older .LRTemplate format. I interpreted the original question as "How do I install .LRTemplate files into the later version of LrC.
This procedure is the for the SpyderCheckr 24. I am using the SpyderCheckr 48, it is the same procedure and it works. I was able to convert the .LRTemplate files that were created in the SpyderCheckr v1.6 software into usable presets in LrC v14.5
If my interpretation of the problem is incorrect, I apologize for wasting everyone's time.
I tried to post the link to the DataColor article, but this BBS software would not allow it. I have added the text of the link below. Eimiailen, I think this link is what you were looking for.
Cheers...

My system: Some ridiculous 24 core AMD with a nuts Nvidia card gaming system that my son built for me. Win 11, LrC, PS, Pixinsight and other stuff. It has to be stupid fast to stack my astrophotography photos. ;^D

Adobe has changed the User Preset file format in Adobe Lightroom Classic, does this have any effects on the Spyder Checkr software?
Adobe has changed the User Preset file format in Adobe Lightroom Classic, does this have any effects on the Spyder Checkr software?
Adobe has changed the Adobe Lightroom Classic presets format a while ago from *.lrtemplate to *.xmp.
The *.XMP format is also the preset format for Adobe Camera RAW.
For compatibility reasons, Adobe does support the old and the new standard.
The folder:
Windows: C:\users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets\User Presets\
Mac: Mac HD/Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets/User Presets/
is the default User Preset folder for the *.lrtemplate files in Adobe Lightroom Classic
The folder:
Windows: C:\users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings\
Mac: Mac HD/Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings/
is the default User Preset folder for the *.XMP files in Adobe Camera RAW and in Adobe Lightroom Classic
When you use the Spyder Checkr software, you will create a *.lrtemplate file. As you do this while you are working in Adobe Lightroom Classic, Adobe Lightroom Classic will not be able to find the new *.lrtemplate file.
This will be done at the next launch of Adobe Lightroom Classic. Therefore restart Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Lightroom Classic will find the new *.lrtemplate file.
Within a few seconds after the launch of Adobe Lightroom Classic will convert the new *.lrtemplate file into the *.XMP format and save that *.XMP format file into C:\users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings\.
You will see a progress window on screen for less than 5 seconds.
By now the Spyder Checkr user preset is available in Adobe Lightroom Classic and also in Adobe Camera RAW.
TIP - if you have used user defined folder or trouble to locate the folders:
The Spyder Checkr offer direct links to the Adobe Lightroom Classic default *.lrtemplate location folder, the Adobe Camera RAW default *.xmp location folder and the Phocus Preset folder.

And I doubt any of this will be relevant for Lightroom version: 8.5 (Cloud based!)
Thanks @Heron Photography for your detailed reply for @eimiailen
From your information I take it that the 'Preset' .lrtemplate file will need to be manually copied and pasted into the 'old' location folder for Presets- if indeed it is a Develop Preset. ie. The 'old' location for Lightroom-Classic.
Windows: C:\users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets\User Presets\
Mac: Mac HD/Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets/User Presets/
The default User Preset folder for the *.lrtemplate files in Adobe Lightroom Classic
But I am still not convinced that the .lrtemplate file from a Spyder is a Develop Preset, but instead a Profile. I never remember Develop presets being a camera profile, unless a Develp preset created by the user makes a reference to the camera profile. I have such a Preset that applies my Nikon camera profile in the import process. Maybe the old Spyder devices did this- insert the profile within a Develop Preset.
I have attached a web document re Camera Profiles-

@Rob_Cullen Respectfully , I do think it is a Develop Preset. It shows up as a "User Preset" in the "Develop" or "Develop" area of the LrCloud v8.5, as I just tried it.
LrC is just a more comprehensive version of LrCloud. I use LrCloud when I am out, but LrC when I am at home. I'm too cheap to pay all the $$$ that Adobe wants for Cloud Storage.
Anyway, I have gone way too far down this rabbit hole. Cheers and have a great evening.
