Import wizard / internal explorer no longer lists the CR3 (Canon RAW)

10.4.2 was released to the Google Play Store and Galaxy App store today and contains a fix for a related issue. Can you install the update and let us know if you are still seeing the issue?

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for reporting this. We completely understand how frustrating this has been.

Just to clarify: there is a known issue in Lightroom Mobile version 10.4.1 where certain file types are no longer appearing in the import screen. Our product team is actively working on a fix.

If you’re seeing a blue screen on the import, you can follow the ongoing thread here for updates:

We’ll post an update as soon as a fix is available. Thanks again for your patie

The team hass advised this is not a Lightroom bug.
"Android's OS does not support the .cr3 file."

We are reviewing this. Please stand by.

Bonjour,

Il me semble difficile d'accepter votre explication.

Same issue, was working like a charm before : plug the camera and it was importing.

now process is blocked .

1000004786.jpg

And even if I manage to copy file on phone, it can not be imported (looking gray on importer, cant be selected)

1000004802.jpg

some people reported *exactly* same issue on google play for the last update.

Again, I can certify the process was working flowlessly 2 weeks ago and only chage was light room version update

So please, review your initial investigation and please open a ticket for dev.

Its even weird as if I use the file browser from android, I can see the .cr3 pictures (they are rendered into the android app) and clicking to 1 picture, it propose lightroom as an option and .... successfuly imports it.....

Or at least provide a way to roll back to a previous, working, version.

Sorry I can't understand that. I got a new Canon R5 II at the end of last year. All my *.cr3 RAW files I could import without any problem directly into my Lightroom Mobile running under Adroid on a Samsung Tablett from the former model Canon R 5. But with the new camera R5 II this is not working anymore. Therefore I believe it is not an Android Problem I gues it has to do with the *.cr3 files from the new R5II.

A workaround for me is in the moment to upload the *.cr3 files von R5II via Bluetooth und WLAN on the Android Tablet, store them in the Gallery of the Tablet and then import them into Lightroom Mobile. But this works only for a few files. If I have a lot of files the BT/WLAN connection is not stable enough to upload all files.

It is a pitty right now and I looking for assistance.

Thanks a lot in advance

Bonjour,

In LR v10.4 on IOS I cannot import vieos from my camera.

The "add photos from" option "Connected camera/card"  I see only images, my videos are filtered out.  There are videos on my camera that are silently ignored.

The option "Device" here shows me both images and video to import from my ipad (ie videos taken on the IOS- and optionaly provided by the apple cloud.  This is what is documented.

The workaround I have is to import rom the camera to apple photos.  However, this process has been stalling for video files and is not reliable.  Then I can import from photos to LR via devices.  This is cumbersonme.

The UI feels off, action button are colliding with android menu and top bar (noticed Samsung S24 Ultra, can't access top right dot menu). But it's overal functional and at least it's possible to import again CR3 files directly.
