Importing 10,000 photos at once?

I have possibly 10,000 photos and videos that I want to import into CC2018.

1. Generally, will a faster computer with more ram and faster processor import quicker than with lower specs?

2. Are there any issues with trying to import all of these at once?

thanks.

I would import them in smaller batches.

RAM is irrelevant to import speed. CPU speed is the key factor.

I agree with dj_paige, but I'd also transfer them to whereever you want them to be and use the Add option when importing.

What does the "Add option" do? I usually just copy my folders to my master drive, and select Import, navigate to the folder I want to import and import the media.

    Thanks.

Add option add's to the catalog without moving them.
