I recieved a preset file in the ".zip" format, how can I import this into Lightroom (not lightroom classic). I have not been able to succesfully convert zip to dng ever so if you have suggestions let me know.
I am using chromebook btw

Zip is a compression method. You need to unzip the file. I don't have a Chromebook but I assume you simply need to double-click it to unzip it. That's how it works on other OS-ses.

I believe your Chromebook runs the Android operating system, so if the zip file contains presets in the XMP format, you can open any photo, select the Presets tool, go to the ... button at the top, select Import Presets, and they'll be imported directly as presets in the Yours tab.
If, however, the presets are provided in DNG format inside the zip, then you'd need to unzip it to show the DNG's and import them as photos, as Johan said.

Thank you for replying, I tried this, but realized that when i clicked the 3 dots it just gave me the option to "hide partially compatible presets"... is this because I just have lightroom cc and not lightroom classic?

No, but there might be a difference between the ChromeOS version and standard Android. I don't have one to test I'm afraid.
