Importing RAW from iPhone question

Im trying out the trial of Lightroom and looking at RAW photos on iPhone 3rd party apps. What is the best way to import into Lightroom. If I open Photos on MacOS I have a RAW folder, but when I import to Lightroom the file now says TIFF.

Am I missing something or just not understanding how the files work?

Thanks

Third party apps may store their raw files in their own storage space. iOS does not allow other apps to access that space. Lightroom can only import those images if the app has stored them in the camera roll.
