Hey @Shelly29646836ggc4. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you get started with Import & Sync in the Lightroom Ecosystem.

We'll need more info. There isn't a definitive answer to your question yet; depending on what you want & what works for you, you can decide what Lightroom to start with.

One fundamental question that can help you decide is; Where do you want to store the full-size originals?

On the computer storage, locally? - Use Lightroom Classic; it stores the originals offline.

At the cloud, as a backup & available everywhere you go? - Use Lightroom desktop to import & sync the full-size images to the cloud at Lightroom web (https://lightroom.adobe.com)

You might have other questions & we've listed recommendations & answers to frequently asked questions here: https://helpx.adobe.com//lightroom-classic/kb/sync-faq.html

Give this a detailed read before you import or sync further. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
