(iPad) Imported photos do not upload

Community Beginner ,

I have a couple of albums which are not getting uploaded by Lightroom mobile on my iPad. The photos have been originally imported on the iPad and they don't get uploaded. Overall status says everything is fine, but when you open a picture, the status on the cloud symbol says something different:

IMG_0040.jpg

All the pictures are there on the iPad, but Lightroom CC on my Laptop or Lightroom Web are missing the pictures. Lightroom Web displays synchronization errors for the missing pictures:

My trust goes down the drain that such synchronization issues still exist in 2022 with Lightroom. Never had such an issue with iCloud / Photos in 11 years.

I tried the delete the photos in the web app as suggested here, but this only made my photos dissappear on the iPad (shocked for a moment):

I then restored the photos in the web app from the recycle bin and the pictures are again there on the iPad.

I'm using the latest version on the iPad, Web and Lightroom CC on desktop.

Your help is really appriciated - I actually wanted to use the christmas holidays to migrate all my photos from "Photos" to Lightroom.

Super stupid solution in case anybody should encounter the same problem:

  1. delete the picture on Lightroom mobile (iPad in my case) and it's going to appear in the deleted pictures / recycle bin
  2. go to deleted pictures and restore the picture (it will show up in all photos and your albums again)
  3. go back to the original album / picture
  4. open the the original picture and
  5. when you click on the cloud symbol it will magically synchronize without any issue

There can be bugs in any software, but honestly, Ligh

Reboot your iPad. It will likely resume the upload. This has happened to me before if my iPad loses wifi for a minute (typical for bad hotel wifi). Killing the Lightroom app from the task manager or rebooting the iPad made it resume the upload.

Cheers mate, the only thing I did not try - restarting the iPad. I though it is sufficient to just kill/close the app and restart it, but looks like you actually have to reboot the iPad. After that it started uploading again. It's currently stuck at the last picture - let's hope that it will also go through.

Looks like Lightroom mobile on the iPad has everything synched apart from this last photo. Tried again to close the app / restart the iPad, but status stays the same as in my original screenshot (only for this one picture).

What happens if you stop and restart the overall sync? Also try disconnecting the wifi from your wifi access. Go into Lightroom and see if it says that the sync is paused because of lack of internet and then reconnecting to wifi.

After deactivating the wifi, Lightroom will detect it:

After activating the WiFi connection. Lightroom will also detect it and it's going back to the usual state (original photo will be uploaded):

But no change of state. Lightroom web will report a synchronization issue and Lightroom on iPad can't upload it.

It's really annoying that Lightroom is not presenting an error message or anything. Just endless uploading without progress.

There can be bugs in any software, but honestly, Lightroom / Adobe is quite expensive and I'm not sure why there is no improvement with the synchronization if you look at the endless number of synchronization problem threads.

I have found cloud sync quite buggy and spotty too. Many issues indeed.
