Question

iPhone Lightroom pictures not synching with Cloud

For some reason, my photos on my iPhone refuse to synch with the cloud. They are auto-added to Lightroom, but despite upgrade to the latest version, I cannot get it to synch. If I make an edit to the picture, it does synch. I have changed Wifi Networks twice, stopped/restarted the app, ...

When I look at the cloud status for any given picture that is not uploaded, I see "Local - Original HEIC" and a message with a circling icon stating "Auto-Importing from device photos - 66083 pending". There are definitely far fewer pictures pending synch. Somehow this stopped working a month ago. What could be the issue?

Are you using Lightroom on another surface, like Lightroom for Windows or Mac too?  I wonder if some import or sync process was started there and is incomplete.

The advice from 'selondon' is good, as any corrupt or incomplete uploads should be described in Sync Issues.

If you are certain that you have original images safely stored outside of Lightroom (ie., originals are still on your camera roll, or computer, or backup drive), then I wonder if reinstalling the app might help.  Reinstalling should clear our any cruft or corruption that may have occured.  If possible, please do a full iOS backup of your iPhone before deleting and re-installing the LR app, just as a safety net in case you need it later.

Another thing you can do before reinstalling the app is to copy any original images inside Lightroom's app cache to your computer, as an additional form of backup.  More info on that here: https://helpx.adobe.com/nz/lightroom-classic/kb/recover-lightroom-mobile-photos-itunes-file-sharing.html

While these backups are time-consuming, they are worth the peace of mind.  My hope is the re-install quickly gets you back on track.  Just re-import your originals from your camera roll.  Duplicates will be skipped, while missing original images will proceed to import.

Thanks for both replies. I am using the Mac App as well, but everything
seems to be working fine there (except for the fact that my mobile pictures
don't show up). Is there a specific place in the app I should look for
potential issues. The two or three pictures that I edited have synched
properly and show up on my Mac.

I don't have a "sync issues" tab on adobe.com.

All my pictures are backed up in iCloud and in my camera roll, so I will go
ahead and delete/re-install the app then (and perform the cache back-up in
parallel).

Thanks!

Also, the fact that this whole process stops when the device locks makes it essentially unusable. Why can't it keep synching in the background?

It may be worth checking http://lightroom.adobe.com/ and checking if there is a Sync Issues Tab over on the left hand side.

If there is, trying delete the photo(s) and see if sync commences.
