Issues with Importing Presets and Profiles into Lightroom Mobile on iPhone and iPad

Participant ,

Hi,

Lightroom Mobile on iPhone and iPad cannot install my packs that contain presets and profiles. I conducted some tests and it turns out that Lightroom Mobile on iPhone and iPad does not want to import profiles. In Lightroom Mobile on an Android, presets and profiles import without any problem.

Below is the link to the preset and profile pack that cannot be imported into Lightroom Mobile on iPhone and iPad.

AFAIK, Lightroom Mobile of iOS does not support direct import of presets yet. You either have to import them in Lightroom desktop on your computer (then they will be synced), or have them applied to a DNG, import the DNG and then save its settings to a new preset.

Hi Adobe Support Team,

It appears that Lightroom Mobile on iPhone and iPad does not support importing profiles, while the same profiles and presets that use profiles import without any issues on Android devices.

Could you please let me know if there are any plans to add the capability to import profiles on Lightroom Mobile for iPhone and iPad in the near future? This feature is crucial for my workflow, and its absence is causing significant inconvenience.

I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your response.

Thank you,
Paweł Słowik

As you correctly said, since version 9.4, import is possible on iOS, so make sure that is installed.

If you have tested on an Android and this is linked to the same account then these should be viewable in iOS also as they should sync across (unless they were deleted after the test?).

Could it be that that they are on IOS but just not visible? (Maybe check Manage Presets).... Or that Show Partially Compatible Presets isn't on?

I have installed the latest version of Lightroom Mobile on both my iPhone and iPad, but it’s not possible to import profiles in XMP format, a feature available on Android. This means I can’t directly import my profiles and presets that rely on these profiles to my iOS devices.

I’ve been working with Lightroom for 18 years and know every nook and cranny of the software. While I know I can import these profiles on an Android phone or PC and then sync them through Adobe Cloud with my account, many people, including a lot of my friends, don’t have access to a PC or Android device. This makes the ability to import profiles directly on iOS devices essential.

Hello @SÅ‚owik inspiruje et All,

Thank you for your question and info here.  While the Lightroom teams that develop for each platform often try to align features to achieve parity, it is not always the case that there will be parity.  Each Lightroom app for each platform is developed by different teams, with various schedules and roadmaps.  I honestly don't know if adding this to LR iOS is planned, and if so I don't know that Adobe staff is allowed to comment on future work.

Normally, I would convert a post like this from a general discussion topic to an "Idea" which other users can vote on -- this helps product management understand user interest.  But this thread has no become so long, I am not sure other users would necessarily read it and add their vote.

@SÅ‚owik inspiruje to best support your wish to see XMP Profile Import added to LR iOS, I urge you to start a new thread and mark it as an "Idea".  Write what you want in a couple of sentences, and link to this thread for further explanation or background info.  I think that will get the best visibility and traction.

Thanks again for reaching out to us. This kind of feedback does help inform product management priorities.

Kind regards,

Charlie D.

It's 2024, and after 10 long years, Adobe finally added the ability to import presets in the mobile version of Lightroom. While that's a step forward, it's almost outdated now because many modern presets are based on profiles. Yet, there's still no way to import profiles on iPhones.

This is a huge oversight and shows how the mobile version of Lightroom is lagging behind. With so many people now editing videos for social media, they could be doing it easily in Lightroom, applying color through profiles. But they aren't, because Lightroom Mobile doesn't support profile or LUT imports. So, photographers are turning to other apps to apply LUTs and edit videos.

If Adobe adds profile import capability in the next six months, it could be a massive leap forward and might help them capture the audience that’s moving with the trends.
Lets hope!
