Lightroom CC on iPAD - Background Sync

Hello

I have used LR Classic for years and sync Smart Previews to LR CC on mobile devices without issue. I am not investigating moving over to the iPAD Pro as my primary device for editing so will use LR CC on all devices. For new images I intended to import direct to the iPAD, edit and then just keep the Smart Previews locally, this seems to work well (also set to download original to LR CC on the PC and store a copy on the NAS).

The problem comes going the other way. I import a set of images into LR CC on the PC, 380 RAW images from a vacation. They import fine and the album shows on the iPAD quickly, smart previews are downloaded and originals will come down as I have the option set to not just keep Smart Previews local (for now).

The probleme is it seem LR CC on the iPAD does not download in the background / when LR CC is closed. So i have to click on each image and wait for the original to download so I can cull and edit as needed.

Any options for getting originals down onto the iPAD easily ?

Hi Rob,

If the RAWs are in the Cloud then syncing shouldn't take that long in the iPad, at least for display purposes.

If you are meaning the lag as you move from one photo to another, then one idea would be to Store Locally any Album where you want the full res to reside on the iPad
