Good morning everyone.
It often happens to me that when I export photos from my Lightroom library and then import them to Photos on Mac for some, not all, the date taken is changed to the date of the export. I can't understand...

A couple of possibilities:

1. In your export settings you are not including "All Metadata", thus the original capture date is not included in the exported file.

2. The file you are exporting from might not have a valid capture date, i.e. it could be a derivative created elsewhere (e.g. from social media, or from an earlier export that didn't include the capture date at the time of export).

For such images, check in Lightroom before you export that the recorded capture date is what you expect.

thanks for the reply but it is none of these cases. The date change is absolutely random on some photos yes on others no

When I export a group of files that have the same characteristics only some then have the date changed. In this for example then in Photo for Mac I see the date 2023/03/10
Here's one

Thanks, but can I just clarify what you've sent? I need to see a copy of the ORIGINAL file that's in Lightroom, not a copy of the file that was produced by the export. What you've sent looks like the copy that was produced by the export?

If you don't have a local copy of the original, you can create a local copy by exporting the file using the "Original + Settings" option in the "Image Type" box when using "Custom Settings" in the "Share" panel. Then upload that copy to Dropbox.
