Does your school have a teams/corporate licence? Try speaking with your network administrator to ensure there are no blocking restrictions on data uploads and downloads.

Hi oliviar,

Sorry that you cannot add photos in Lightroom desktop as "Add Photos" option is grayed out and the Library is black.

Could you check and drop a note and describe your license? Is it a normal Photography Program License? Educational? Corporate (Enterprise)?  We've discovered instances of a Corporate license where the issue turned out to be the Corporate Admin controls.  Please reply in to this comment with your license type.

Thanks,

Akash

Mine is doing the same. I have had lightroom for about a year or more and it's only just started doing this. Quite a pain as I have a load of photos from my latest shoot that need editing!

Hi bonnies,

Sorry to hear about this. Do you have a corporate license type? If so please check with your Administrator for all required permissions.

If that still does not helps the cause, we have a bug logged in for this issue and our engineering team is working on it.

It would be really useful to understand how the school has set up access for this LR CC in the first instance.

For example, might there be a copy of LR CC Classic linked / Synced to the LR CC?

Can you post back some information regarding this context as it is missing in the initial post in this thread.

Not to mention Read / Write privileges administered by there school IT which may be an issue.

If any Windows customer is still experiencing this issue, please try these steps:

  1.  Restart your system
  2.  Uninstall Lightroom Desktop via the Creative Cloud Desktop app
  3.  In File Explorer - go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\
  4.  If you see a folder called "Adobe Lightroom CC",  delete this folder
  5.  Reinstall Lightroom Desktop from the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Please let us know if the problem persists.
