Lightroom Mobile Edits Not Syncing Desktop

When I upload original photos into Lightroom CC, they will sync in LR mobile app quickly. However, if I make an edit to the photo in LR Mobile app, those edits will not sync to the LR CC desktop. It appears everything works if it originates from my desktop version and feeds to the mobile LR, but not the other way. All is on the latest versions. How do I get my mobile app to sync with LR CC? Thank you!

I'm tired, really tired of lightroom not doing the things for it was created, I need to rebuild sync data almost twice per month in order to lightroom to sync the edits made on my laptop to desktop where the original RAWs are stored so I can export and deliver to my clients. I'm a wedding photographer myself and at this point I'm frustrated of using this crap "ecosystem"

Same. It's wild that this issue is still persisting.

Now the rebuild sync option isn't even working for me anymore.

Has there been any resolutions here for this awesome issue? My story is not much different. I was in the middle of syncing a collection to Lightroom on my ipad to be able to edit while traveling. IN the middle of the transfer my darling macbook pro died. just black screen and done. While waiting for a replacment i edited the 65 or so phots that made it over to the lightroom on my ipad. Not great but not bad work was done. Then i got a refurb quick deal on a 2017 macbook pro. restored all my goods and went right to work to finish a wedding from the summer.. killing me slowly. mind you im still getting the hang of the whole syncing between lightrooms thing. so once i managed to move ALL my synced photos from lightroom (on acccident) i found the folder under "from lightroom" with my edited images. however they are jpegs and not synced up with my existing collection. i have read this thread many times and tried all the tricks. still no edits. i have been begrudgiingly been copy settings in groups and pasting to the colletion. i probalby could just share the jpgs with the bride and stop being so ocd about it but consistency is hard to break. any advise is welcome. I think im screwed because i edited the images in lightroom but never synced the whole album over? so i feel like they are on 2 playing fields but that shouldnt be right. aye.

I'm also having these issues. I'll sync an album from Classic, try to do edits/flag on the go with my iPad or MacBook using the CC version, but they end up not syncing back with Classic.

It seems like it's a bug that has been reported repeatedly. Still no resolution?

Actually a very quick update: Holding down 'alt' in Lightroom Classic sync settings brings up a button 'rebuild sync data'. This seemed to fix my issue (this time).

This solution worked for me as well.

Anyone found the solution yet? Or maybe have feedback on Capture One for PC/IPad workflow users?

No resolution yet. I've updated to a new MacBook Pro M2 and after the last Lightroom classic update my catalog stopped syncing correctly again. I rated and flagged images on my iPad after importing the images to my hard drive and still having the same issue. Im

waiting for capture one to get more features and a better iPad app and I'm done with Adobe. Lightroom CC doesn't have features that I use for my catalog like classic does. I use smart collections and collection sets  and Lightroom cc doesn't have them. They just have standard collections

Let me know if this works for anyone. On Lightroom CC you have to optimize the catalog. Go to file, then optimize catalog. You will then have to restart Lightroom CC and once it has booted back up you will then see all your edits start to sync over and appear computer or Lightroom CC. I usually import my photos onto my computer, then sync them over to my mobile device or iPad then edit from there. The problem was that my edits were not syncing over back to my computer, but this resolved the issue. GOOD LUCK!

Hello Everyone. I have just TURNED ON "Store Smart Preview on Local HD" in the "Local Storage" preferences and it seems to have FIXED his issue. The only downside is the smart prieviews still take up a large chunck of Local HD space (appriximately 25% of the total storage of my Originals). I hope this helps.

I don't see this option on LR classic, unless I'm missing it. Pulling out hair over here after hours of lost work thanks to this issue. 😞

This didn't work for me. I'm usually good with syncing until there's an update. Then whatever I'm working on stops syncing. I do 95% of my editing on my iPad after I import directly into Lightroom classic. I think this is the year I go to capture one. Because Adobe doesn't care to fix this for Classic. Lightroom CC is showing all my edits correctly. It's been 4 years of this. I'm tired of it.

After a half day and pulling my hair out, I found something that made them sync. Select the photos that aren't syncing, right click one and go to Develop Settings. I clicked on both, one at a time, Reset and then Update to Current Process Version. Not sure which one of those makes it work, but they are finally now synced!

This was helpful!

I noticed that

(a) clicking on Reset is sufficient

(b) the picture is only updated a few seconds later (sometimes half a minute).

I could reproduce this on a few pictures so seems to be a pretty stable workaround.

Now, the tricky part is to detect all pictures with local edits on my mobile so I can manually reset them on the desktop. Overall the experience remains annoying, so I do hope Adobe reacts to this.

Been here ages, same as you all, did this one above, selected the folder with all the images and walked away, had a coffee, made a few calls, came back all done! thank stefanr7585868, so the plan now is set it up to run overnight after I have edited on ipad.

Joining the exhausted choir. Spent weeks syncing my libraries over the past 5 years to Lr so I could rate, flag, and edit on the go and finish back in LrC. None of my mobile efforts ever show up in LrC. My first few tests where I gave a file 5-stars showed up, but then once I started editing in Lr, no metadata is shared back to LrC. @greule Please help with this very aged issue.

Same exact issue here. It is extremely frustrating as I purchased an iPad strictly to be able to edit on the go, but it is now rendered useless since not all photos will sync properly.

To clarify, the cloud icon shows everything has synced across all devices: web, ipad, pc desktop.

A number of photos edited on my ipad show edited on the web, but not lightroom classic on my desktop. They should be edited and rated, but are showing none of that.

PLEASE address this issue.
