Lightroom Mobile - processing order definition

Community Beginner ,

In Lightroom Mobile, the processing order defaults to photo capture date and time, which is the most sensible most of the time. However, on occasion, I want to process by image name order for a series of images with the output files registering processing date and time such that in other photo cloud systems such as Google Photos the photo order correctly by date and time. I can't see this as possible now, although I can order photos by name in Albums, so if I process them by selecting them when in the Album, will this produce what I want?

You'd need to rename during export, with it set to Custom Name and a sequence number. Then Google or similar could sort by filename to get the same order.

Thanks for that. I do use custom name and a numbering system, but the existing exif data stays and so Google sorts by exif date and time, which is fine and sensible nearly all the time. If I change the sort style it will change all photos in my photo stream, which I don't want. I can reorder in albums, but I want to reorder for a small group of photos only in the main stream.

What I want to be able to do in Lightroom is process photos by name order sequence but replace existing exif date and time such that new date and time reflect name order, so they are ordered by processing time in Google not taken time.

I am probably asking too much of the app and will have to do this outside the app, I guess.

I'm with you. Lightroom Mobile can't change the capture time, but Lightroom Desktop can, if that helps.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll find a way round the challenge, eventually.
