Lightroom Mobile "An error occurred while authenticating"

Community Beginner ,
May 29, 2022 May 29, 2022

Tried to re-install Lightroom Mobile to my Samsung tablet but get the message "An error occurred while authenticating. Please try again later". Tried several times - same message. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling - same problem. Tried full factory reset of my tablet and then reinstalling Lightroom Mobile - same message. Lightroom Mobile appears to be working ok on my android mobile

Exactly the same thing is happening to me on my Sony Experia (android) - I uninstalled/re-installed the app in an attempt to get round a syncing issue with Lightroom Classic...  Wish I hadn't done that now!

Does the original poster have any update?

After a number of attempts on my phone it eventually let me log in.  It's not syncing correctly, though, so it's pretty much unusable.  I get an error saying "filed to load development version" when accessing any photos that haven't yet shown up in the browser.  After over a week, it still hasn't loaded all my images.

Further, the Lightroom app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has developed the same problem as above: it's not letting me log in at all, so all my remote devices are pretty much useless at the moment.

Come on Adobe - you can do better than this!!!

An update on my personal experience - I don't know if it will work for other sufferers...

I turned my phone's wifi connection OFF and then attempted to sign in using the mobile network.  This worked and LR Mobile started up and showed me all my synced images ("Hooray!").
I then turned wifi back on - all seemed to be fine. (again "Hooray!")
I then signed out and went back to the original situation with the "An error occurred while authenticating. Please try again later" response.

Signing in again with wifi OFF fixed the problem.    The moral here is - once you;ve connected, don't sign out!

Hope this helps some people... I've also raised this as a bug...

Yes, signing in with the wifi off has helped and it's synchronising better than previously.  It's still not finding all the recent photos, though.

Thanks for raising as a bug.

This case can now be closed. Issue was resolved by a combination of ending all active sessions on pc, tablet and smart phone (by entering my Adobe account and selecting "Account and Security" followed by "Sign-in and Security" then choosing "End All Sessions") together with switching wi-fi off and access (from phone) over 4G before putting wi-fi back on. Not sue which gave the fix but now working ok.

I decided to uninstall and resinstall the Lightroom app (v 7.3.1) my on Sony Experia (Android) phone (to try and resolve a syncing issue) and when I go to sign in, I get the message "An error occurred while authenticating. Please Try again later."
I've repeated the uninstall/re-install process process and still get the same error.

Clearly this should NOT be happenening and I shouldn't have to do this to start LR Mobile on my (android) phone. There seems to be an issue with the app's connectivity to sign in via wifi...

Adobe - Please investigate and fix this - looking at the several other threads in the support forum, I'm not the only android user stuck in this particular circle of hell!

Same here. Any luck? I've tried rebooting both my phone and my router and setting my mobile phone to a static address.

Same situation here. Specially annoying when using Lightroom Mobile on my tablet. My only workaround is to crete a wifi hotspot with my phone in order for it to work.

Try ending active sessions on all your devices and then restarting each session as follows:-

1. Sign-in to you Adobe account – go to adobe.com
2. View your account by selecting “View Account” – click icon top right corner
3. From menu select “Account Security” and then “Sign-in Security”
4. Scroll down to view Active Sessions – this shows all devices where you have active sessions running of Lightroom. I suggest ending all active sessions. You can then go to each of your devices to log back in to your adobe account (open Lightroom on your device and it should ask you to log back in to your adobe account)

It appears my sync and connection problems when trying to use Lightroom mobile on multiple devices (pc, android and tablet). I’ve just purchased a new ipad and now have restricted to using Lightroom mobile only on my ipad (with Lightroom Classic on desktop). Taking the above steps I managed to get Lightroom working ok on my ipad. So far working ok. Hope this helps

Dave

Hi, Sorry you're having trouble. Try turning off wi-fi then sign in with cellular data and see if that helps.

I have been using Lightroom mobile for a long time, but after the update I cannot log into my account and start using the program. When trying to log into the account, the program reports that an error occurred during authentication. How to fix this error?

Some people have reported that switching off WiFi and using data instead solves the problem. Worth a try!
