Lightroom unbearably slow on Mac and keeps logging me out when exporting

I'd imagine that this has been asked a thousand times, but my lightroom is opperating unbearably slow. I'll crop a photo and it'll take about 1.5 minutes for the crop to "take". Also, when I'm uploading, it signs me out EVERY time. I can't continue with this and make my clients happy. Please help!!!
