Question

Lightroom won't import images and thinks they are duplicates

Lightroom thinks an image is a duplicate after i try to reimport it from a Tiff file. Renaming it doesn't work. How do I get an image that's I've worked on back into lightroom? I'm using Lightroom CC latest version on a Mac with Big Sur.

If you 'sent' an image from Lightroom to edit in Photoshop, then a [Save] of the file in Ps will automatically add the new file "back into lightroom". No 'Importing' is required. (You cannot then Import a second time)

Are you aware that Lr will 'Stack' the images (indicated by the [2] badge)

If you click on the [2] you will expand / unstack the files (original and Ps edit) on the filmstrip-

You can also select one of the Versions and [Right-Click] to [Set as Stack Cover] so you then only see the 'Cover' version in the Grid view.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Hi there,

Could you please let us know the exact version of Lightroom you're using?
Also, what error are you seeing at your end? Could you please share some more details with us?

Regards,
Sahil
