Lightroom won't launch as it freezes after catalog backup failed

Question

Lightroom was hanging on back up so I cancelled and now it won't launch at all. Photoshop will launch just fine but Lightroom will not launch. It doesn't give an error of any sort. My computer just does nothing.
Please help I need to use this program.

Sorry that Lightroom Classic on your computer and does not open or freezes.

Would you mind sharing the exact version of the Lightroom Classic app you're using? Also, what is your computer's OS?

Does it help if you launch Lightroom with a different catalog as mentioned in this steps here: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/recover-catalog-images-resetting-lightroom.html#id_41746

If that does not help, would you mind restoring Lightroom Classic app preferences to default and let us know if the issue still persists? Please refer this article for step by step instructions:
