Lossless Compressed RAW vs RAW for Upload Performance

Is there any advantage to using Lossless Compressed RAW (Fujifilm) vs RAW for upload to cloud performance? Or does Lightroom CC convert everything to DNG before it uploads?  The Creative Cloud app seems to indicate that the original files are preserved after they sync to the cloud but I can't find any documentation which supports this.  If it does upload the original file format, it would make sense to use Lossless Compressed RAW just to improve the sync speed (compressed RAW is about 50% smaller), even though there are no previews for import on iOS (Lightroom CC uses the OS to generate file previews).  

 

Does anyone have any information on this? (I'm not interested in compression for saving space on my SD cards - I have plenty of SD cards :-).

Yes, it will be the original raw file that is uploaded. So you would expect that a smaller compressed raw file will upload faster that an uncompressed larger raw file.

 

One potential issue, however.....the new AI Denoise feature would possibly not work on the compressed raw files. So if you think you might want to use AI Denoise, it would make sense to test it on one of the your compressed raw files before making the final decision to switch.
