Question

Lr Mobile iPad - photos nit syncing or very slow

I've imported 14 photos to Lr iPad (12.9" Pro), and hours later only 3 have synced. I have been connected to home WiFi which is fast enough to stream movies so that is not the issue. Lr not a viable tool if this is not resolved !!

So, that sync finished after about 12 hours. Yesterday  shot 70 photos. 30 synced overnight. Zero synced all day today. Does anyone have any tips on what to do? No response from Adobe, evidently, but maybe fellow users can help? Thanks !!!

Are you trying trying sync exclusivly to the web or to your desktop as well?

Be advised, most internet packages offer high speed for downloads and NOT uploads. For example, my upload is a miserbale 10 Mbs sec and any wifi can suffer a hicup. This could cause a sync error and perhaps stop the whole sync. Wifi has faults.

Is your ipad configured to sync in the background? If so, consider that Apple does what Apple wants whenever it wants, and if that means deactivating your app in the background to save battery or ram, that's all possible. When your sync is not running properly, leave the app in the front focus while syncing.

Try the following. (Obviously, if you don't have multiple devices, just do this to the one device)

Shut down your app on each device respectivly or concurrently. If you don't see progress in any one app, consider restarting your devices. There are help files and posts on this forum, or lightroom queen or just google how to remove the syncs erros across devices. On the ipad, it could also help to toss out the previously running apps. I know Apple has said you don't need to do this, but here's an example to the contrary. I was recently running into memory errors on Final Cut Pro for the Ipad. After tossing out some of those other apps, the errors message abated and got back on track.

Hope this helps for starters.

Many thanks for your suggestions. Some more information ...

I am away from home with my iPad, and so just looking to sync to the cloud. Here at this holiday house I have had some issues with the WiFi, and last night it packed up completely, so slow upload speeds are doubtless an issue. I think what maybe compounded the problem is that I went through culling and editing photos having imported them and before they were synced. In the end I logged on to the Lightroom webpage, definitively deleted all the photos that were in the Deleted folder, and also deleted the ones in the Sync Issues folder. I deleted the Lr app and reinstalled it. Then I turned off WiFi and used mobile data to import the missing images and upload them one by one. This seemed to work so I got confident and uploaded a batch, which also worked.

For the future what I think I will do is 1) not import images to my iCloud Drive (see below) and 2) do a "pre-selection" and not import images that are obviously bad, so as to reduce the pointless syncing of images I will be deleting straight away. Then I will wait until the syncing is finished before working on the images.

Thanks again for your reply - I appreciate it.
