Nvidia 3050 issue in Lightroom Creative Cloud

Lighroom Creative Cloud 8.4(latest version) in Windows11

Lighroom Creative Cloud seems to have an issue with my Nvidia Rtx 3050 6GB dGPU, but only in Creative Cloud, which I prefer using. It might be an Nvidia issue maybe you can clear this for me.

When I let the performance from preferences on AUTO or HIGH PERFORMANCE, I can see photos in Detail and Compare, but as soon as I click on Square Grid or Photo Grid,it either doesn't show anything(greyed out as per screenshot)or the program crashes. Also if I select a photo from Detail and try to edit it,program is extremely sluggish and slow, doesn't change exposure in real-time for example. On the other hand, using a tool like Denoise works great and takes less than 20 seconds which is great. This obviously uses the dGPU

If I switch the performance on Power Saving(or disable the Nvidia Gpu from Device Manager in win10),all issues dissappear because the system uses the integrated Iris Xe graphics. But I can't use tools like Denoise because they last a lot of time to load. They are usable but way to slow.

I've also tried disabling the integrated Iris Xe graphics and then Lightroom CC is obligated to use the Nvidia Gpu.In this case, photo grid and square grid now work but still everything is slow and unusable like not asjusting a slider in real-time,it has a lag,not suitable for editing.

When checking in the Nvidia App(where the graphics driver is updated to the latest version 576.80) I can't OPTIMIZE the Lightroom App(attached screenshot),when I press optimize it doesn't do anything.Which leads me to the conclusion that the Nvidia 3050 is having issues in working with Lightroom .

As far as I've checked, issue is not present in Lightroom Classic

Any workarround for this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Tataru_B4903, and welcome to the community!
Sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble with Lightroom—we’re here to help however we can.

When you have a moment, could you share your System Info with us? You’ll find it in Lightroom under Help > System Info. Just copy the details into a text file and attach it to your reply, or feel free to share it through Google Drive, WeTransfer, or any file-sharing service you prefer.

While we take a look, it might be worth trying to clear the cache and increase the cache size limit by going to Edit > Preferences. Sometimes that can help with performance issues. You could also try resetting your Lightroom preferences, just in case something went wrong in the internal Lightroom files. Here’s how to do that.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
Alek

Hi @Aleke

Thanks for the suggestions.Tried both clearing the cache as well as resetting the Lightroom preferences, same behaviour.

I've also attached the Sys Info as requested.

Thank you for the support and quick response

Hi @Tataru_B4903! Thanks a bunch for sharing your System Info

It looks like your system is currently using the integrated graphics card instead of the NVIDIA one, and it indicates that it has "insufficient memory".

Could you try sending your System Info again, but this time with the NVIDIA card enabled and the integrated graphics disabled? (When both graphics cards are active, Adobe apps can sometimes run into issues since they don’t typically take advantage of multiple GPUs.) That should give us a clearer picture and help us troubleshoot better.

Thanks again!
Alek
