Only Delete Cloud Content Adobe Lightroom

I am using Adobe Lightroom Classic and I only want to delete the content that is in the cloud consuming space that counts towards my storage limit. I found the following instructions on the Adobe support site.

 

"You delete all your photos in the cloud on LrWeb. You can log into lightroom.adobe.com, press your avatar on the top right corner and click on Account Info. There, under actions click on Delete Lightroom Library."

 

Will this delete anything on my computer harddrive or will it only delete content that has been uploaded to the cloud? Also, when I sync an album from Lightroom Classic on my computer to the cloud, it only uploads smart previews that don't count against my storage limit (which is not what I want to remove). Is this going to delete all of that content too? If so, will I have any issues re-syncing those images again from Lightroom Classic?

Yes, deleting the cloud library via LrWeb will clear the entire image library from the cloud. To delete only the originals which are taking up cloud storage space, you can use the filter in the Lightroom desktop app. First click on the All Photos item in the left-hand panel, then click on the filter icon (right-hand side of the Search Bar) and select "Sync Status".....the resulting display will list a few categories, but the one you are interested in is "Synced and Backed Up". Clicking on that will populate the grid with all the photos which exist in the cloud in full original form, i.e. not smart previews. Selecting all those and deleting them will clear your cloud storage.....just make sure they have been safely downloaded and stored in Classic on your local hard drives before doing the delete.

 

Note that once deleted from the cloud they will also be "unsynced" in LrClassic, and would be removed from any synced collection that they may be in. But the images themselves would not be removed from LrClassic.
