When using Lightroom on iPad I get a gray square evertime I use the heal tool.  It's not happening on my phone, only on iPad.  Please help; this tool used to work just fine.

Greetings all,

Updates for Adobe Lightroom Mobile products have been released.  The December 2023 updates contain a fix for this issue.

Updates will be available via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and the Galaxy App Store. Note: it can take several days for some customers to receive a notification of an available update via their App Store.

Thank you for your patience.

Downloading original also fixed my issue.

Must have something to do with the way that the "smart previews" are generated.

Just posted a similar thread before finding this one. I noticed this only happens on Smart previews. One solution for me was to select the cloud icon at the top right and then "Get this original". After doing that, spot healing worked again on that image only.

When using the healing tool on photos that are smart previews, I'm getting strange black outlines/boxes - see images. I've noticed if the image is an "original" instead of "smart preview", this doesn't happen.

Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing this?

Just saw the other post about this issue and added a possible solution/workaround. Selecting the cloud icon of the image and then "get this original" makes the clone tool work again (for me anyway).

I'm having the same issue of the box covering the spot I'm trying to heal. How is this not fixed already? This is a core feature.

iPad Pro

All software is current

Having an issue with the heal brush. I'm finding whenever I use it it leaves a dark outline over the item I want to remove. Tried Remove and Heal they are both the same. Example below Using M1 IPAD Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, both have same issue.

Hi all.  I ran into a very odd, very specific bug last night. I was editing a backlog of photos over the past few weeks with no issues whatsoever. I got to editing photos that I took recently (within 30 days) and for some reason when I go to use the remove tool on these photos the program is leaving a grey box after it makes the adjustment. What's even more peculiar is this box doesn't show up when I look at the same photo on my iPhone after I let it sync.

It seems to only be happening on my iPad and only for photos that I've recently uploaded. Im unable to recreate this on my phone.

I deleted the app on my iPad and reinstalled as well as updated my iPad iOs.
