P: Lightroom on Android crashes on Pixel devices

I have a pixel 9 Pro XL and every time I open Lightroom it either crashes or I can open a single picture and then I get the circle and then the app either freezes or crashes again.

I have updated Android and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Lightroom app several times. I have cleared the cache and storage and the same thing happens.

This has been happening for weeks I was hoping an update would fix it.

Thank you for confirmation. Considering that the beta version of Android 16 was available long time before the offical release, and the offical version is already available on the market for a couple of months, it's very annoying that it is still not solved. I think that customers expextation is that critical issues will be solved within days or weeks but not months.

Im facing the exact same issue, with my Google Pixel 8 pro. I just downloaded the app and it crashes within seconds. Surprised to see that this issue has not been solved from so long.

When i open the app, i see my files for 2 seconds, then the app crashes. All I see is a black screen and a buffering symbol. Its happening with my pixel 8 pro (Android 16, 12GB Ram).

The app works perfectly on my old phone : Vivo Y22 (Android 14, 8GB Ram).

I also have an active subscription. Please help with this issue. Or can i atleast freeze my subscription untill this solves.

I have the same exact issue with my Pixel 8 Pro. Android 16, LR version 10.5.4, can load an app, but if I click on the photo in the library, I can view it for 1-2 sec and then get the circle/crash.

Hi!

I've been using Lightroom Mobile on my Google Pixel 6 Pro for a long time, but after switching to the Pixel 8 Pro, I can no longer use the app with the same Android version (Android 16 QPR1 - BP41.250725.006).

After installing the app, I can log in, but it doesn't sync my files. If I try to edit a photo, the app crashes.

After one crash, I can't open the app anymore.
If I manage to open it, all I see is an infinite loading screen with a spinning circle.

What can I do?

I have already tried reinstalling the app after deleting the cache and restarting the phone.

Sorry to hear Lightroom Mobile is crashing on your new phone. Thanks for already trying to reinstall and clear the cache. That’s a great first step. To help us dig deeper, could you please share a few details:

How much RAM is available on your device?
How much free storage space do you currently have on your Pixel 8 Pro?
Does your device meet all the system requirements mentioned here?

For the syncing issue, I’d also suggest trying on a different network (for example, a mobile hotspot) to rule out connection-related problems.

Once we have these details, we’ll be able to guide you better.

This has been going on for weeks now. Can anyone help?

I tried to uninstall reinstall. But it did not work. I have cleared the cache and memory of the app before uninstall and reinstall.

The app just continues to show this black screen with a spinning circle.

Please share more details, such as the exact version of Lightroom, operating system details, and video recordings of what you see.

Try keeping the device in Flight Mode & without internet when you launch Lightroom.
